Candace Malone has more than 20 years’ experience in the media business building business and managing sales teams. Her brand marketing, media and advertising sales background is very diverse in selling concepts that align with a brand’s DNA.
She has developed partnerships for branded entertainment across multi-media platforms including film, television, mobile, online, games and apps. Her impressive resume includes positions in Broadcast, Consumer Print and Online Sales in women’s lifestyle, health & fitness, pop culture, politics and sports sponsorships . Ms. Malone has worked for major media companies from Y&RNY, Tribune Broadcasting, Weider and Hachette Filipacchi.
Ms. Malone has been working with some of the most talented storytellers in Hollywood, building concepts and supporting the core story with transmedia marketing. She’s taken her brand relationships that she’s built throughout the years in advertising sales and expanded them to working with brands across the country to sponsor and integrate into television, web series and social/mobile media games. In working with Fortune 500 brands across the country, she’s collaborated with the brands and executive producers to create marketing entertainment that acquires, retains and deepens the bond with consumers that is marketed across a variety of platforms simultaneously or gradually.
Ms. Malone is currently heading up the branded entertainment divisions for The Institute, by Michael Bay and Scott Gardenhour; plus, BEC, and gaming companies GameCentric Media and Hive Media. The Institute specializes in transmedia storytelling on film, television, commercials, web series, docu-series, social media games, apps, mobile, etc. around the brand. Multi-media productions have been with brand leaders like Audi, Nike, Hallmark and big screen blockbusters like “Transformers,” “Armageddon,” “Pearl Harbor” and “Coyote Ugly.” Gamecentric Media’s team is comprised of a growing team of game industry veterans who have worked on some of the most successful game franchises of all time. With backgrounds at Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, Warner Bros., Twentieth Century Fox, K2 Networks and many other online and casual gaming companies, the team has developed a deep understanding of what makes a game immersive and fun.
Prior to working in branded entertainment, Ms. Malone was the Midwest Advertising Director and West Coast Director for Woman’s Day Magazine. Ms. Malone specializes in multi-platform programs that build engagement and brand lift at retail via print, online, mobile, event and television. Ms. Malone has managed all account categories with an emphasis in entertainment, pharmaceutical and CPG.
In all her advertising sales roles, she was extremely successful in building and maintaining strong sales figures. Starting with her role as Woman’s Day’s West Coast Director, she was the first person to double revenue to $10 million after replacing a team of three. Ms. Malone then was promoted to Midwest Advertising Director and transferred back to Chicago to manage the sales operation for Woman’s Day’s second largest office in the country with revenues of $23 million. Ms. Malone took declining sales and turned them around to have significant growth within three consecutive quarters.
Previously, Ms. Malone held positions as Sales Manager for George and Premiere Magazines; Sr. Account Executive for Shape, launching three brand extensions: Fit Pregnancy, Living Fit, Shape Cooks; Account Manager for WGN Radio selling Sports Sponsorships; Account Manager at the Chicago Sun-Times; Media Planner/Buyer at Young & Rubicam NY.
Ms. Malone is actively involved with several digital conferences and groups to keep pace with important media and digital trends. She has been involved in event marketing and digital media consulting with three groups: The Distinguished Speaker Series of Southern California , Whynotgreen.com and IndieBride.com.
Ms. Malone holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University, majoring in Journalism and minoring in Studio Art.
